work

Over the past four years, I've developed an extensive portfolio of news coverage, promotional writing, essays, and more. Below are just a few of my published clips. Continue scrolling for unpublished work, and see my Substack for creative writing.

The Maxwell Perspective

As a writer for The Maxwell School's news site and alumni magazine, The Maxwell Perspective, I gained experience translating complex policy ideas and academic research into clear, engaging stories for a broader audience. My writing focused on highlighting the work of students, faculty, and initiatives within the school, often requiring me to break down nuanced topics in a way that felt both accessible and compelling.

Through this experience, I strengthened my ability to write with clarity, adapting my voice to fit an institutional audience while still maintaining a strong narrative focus. I have also developed a deeper appreciation for the role of communication in shaping how people understand policy, education, and the world around them.

Her Campus Media

As the news & politics editorial intern with Her Campus Media in Summer 2024, I gained hands-on experience writing daily stories for a national digital publication. My work spanned topics from college preparation to social media trends, but I mainly focused on writing about the upcoming 2024 general election.

Leading up to this role, I was fascinated by how many of my peers had chosen not to follow the news because it seemed so heavy and inaccessible. I quickly developed a passion for writing about important issues with the goal of reaching my generation specifically, empowering people my own age to learn about the world around them and how they fit into it.

After my internship, I was kept on staff as a national writer, allowing me to deepen my reporting skills while continuing to cover timely, complex issues in a way that feels accessible and engaging for Gen Z audiences. Since then, I have written more than 50 articles for Her Campus.

The Good Life Magazine

As managing editor of The Good Life Magazine, Syracuse University’s premier solutions-based publication, I helped to lead the editorial direction and production of long-form, narrative-driven stories focused on lifestyle, culture, and community. In this role, I worked closely with writers and editors at every stage of the process—from pitching and development to editing and final publication—ensuring each piece was both thoughtfully reported and intentionally crafted. I oversaw the production of three issues.

Through my time as managing editor, I strengthened my leadership, editing, and communication skills while developing a sharper editorial vision. Guiding a team of writers has pushed me to think critically about story structure, tone, and impact, ultimately shaping how I approach both storytelling and collaboration.

Working on The Good Life also deepened my appreciation for service-oriented journalism, and not just using my writing and editing skills to tell stories, but using them to highlight change makers and generate hope in my community.
